C. Norman Coleman

Dr. Coleman is Associate Director, Radiation Research Program; Senior Investigator, Radiation Oncology Branch; and Special Advisor to the NCI Director at the National Cancer Institute. Since 2004 he has been a Senior Medical Advisor in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response in the Department of Health and Human Services. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, a Fellow of the American College of Radiology, and a Fellow and Gold Medal recipient of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology.

From 1985 to 1999, Dr. Coleman was Professor and Chairman of the Harvard Medical School Joint Center for Radiation Therapy. From 1978 to 1985, he was Associate Professor of Radiation and Medical Oncology at Stanford University.

Dr. Coleman received his BA from the University of Vermont and his MD from Yale University. He trained in internal medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, medical oncology at the NCI, and radiation oncology at Stanford. He is board certified in all 3 specialties.
