Marcelle Layton Dr. Layton is the Assistant Commissioner for the Bureau of Communicable Disease at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. She received her medical degree at Duke University and completed residency training in internal medicine at the State University of New York Health Sciences Center in Syracuse, NY. She has also completed fellowship training in infectious disease at Yale University School of Medicine and was an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
