Speaker Biography

Bradley Stein (M.D., University of Pittsburgh, Ph.D., RAND Graduate School for Policy Analysis) is a Natural Scientist at RAND and an Assistant Professor of Child Psychiatry at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California. Dr. Stein's current research activities include ongoing analyses of national survey data regarding American's response to terrorism, the development of mental health recovery guidelines and technical assistance materials for schools nationwide for use in their response to a school-related violent event, and the writing of white paper, based upon literature review and expert interviews, that outlines the behavioral health issues and strategies related to bioterrorism preparedness and response. Dr. Stein's is also involved in efforts to improve the quality of mental health services being delivered to children in schools, including the development and evaluation of a program which provides an early school-based mental health intervention to traumatized children in Los Angeles Unified School District Mental Health Services Unit, on the Schools Committee of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and is the Director of the School Consultation Program for the USC Division of Child Psychiatry.
