Professional Biography
Paul Bracken is Professor of Management and of Political Science at Yale University. He specializes in national security and management issues associated with corporate strategy and information technology. He has written extensively, including The Command and Control of Nuclear Forces, and articles including "The Military After Next," and "The Second Nuclear Age" in the January 2000 issue of Foreign Affairs. His current book is Fire in the East, The Rise of Asian Military Power and the Second Nuclear Age (HarperCollins). He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations; and serves on the CNO Executive Panel. Before joining the Yale faculty in 1983 he worked for ten years at the Hudson Institute, New York. Professor Bracken holds a BS in engineering from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in operations research from Yale University, and lives in Ridgefield, Connecticut.
