Dr. Adalja is the chief fellow in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center serving as a visiting fellow at the Center For Biosecurity. At the center, he is a contributor to the Clinician's Biosecurity Network and to the Center's Biosecurity Briefing. He also provides analytical and clinical support for the Center’s programs. Additionally, Dr. Adalja is a member of the Allegheny County (PA) Metropolitan Medical Response Team and serves on the American College of Emergency Physicians Pennsylvania Chapter's EMS & Terrorism and Disaster Preparedness Committee. He also was a contributing author to the Handbook of Bioterrorism and Disaster Medicine. Dr. Adalja is board certified in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine and is a diplomat of both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He is a member of various medical societies, including the American Medical Association, Infectious Diseases Society of America, HIV Medical Association, American College of Physicians, and the American College of Emergency Physicians. Prior to joining the Center, Dr. Adalja completed a combined residency in both Internal and Emergency Medicine at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh where he also served as chief resident. He is a graduate of the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and obtained a bachelor of science degree in Industrial Management from Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Adalja is a native of Butler, Pennsylvania. |
