What's New Protecting Building Occupants from Biological Threats: We are pleased to announce the launch of this new website, which is designed to inform building owners and operators about biological threats and the related risks to occupants. Topics covered include: biological threats, HVAC system basics, building vulnerabilities and related risks, practical steps for reducing risk, and costs and benefits. Recommendations for BARDA funding for FY2009: BARDA supports the advanced development of critically needed medical countermeasures against biological threats. Since its creation in late 2006, BARDA has received $201 million, an amount too low to support success. In response to a recent request from Senator Richard Burr, the Center recommended $1.7 billion as an appropriate level of funding for FY 2009.
